Plenty of Muscle and Bustle at First Year Sports Day

First year students took part in a sports day today and it most certainly seemed like great fun. The day is organised as part of St. Vincent's student induction programme and to help build closer bonds between the first years. Today's sporting events included a penalty shootout, crossbar challenge, relay race, 50 metre sprint, shot putt, poc fada and a tug of war.

The sporting highlight of the day was the tug of war between the two classes. There was plenty of muscle strength showing by both classes, but the clear winners were Mr. Whyte's form class, 1 Erne. Well done guys!

Newsroom sent Sebastian Marinel and Mark Budeanu along to cover the event and to chat to the first years about the day. A big shout out to the TY Mentors who helped out at the event too.
